Global launch of the IASC guidelines in New York (November, 2019). Event room with the backdrop of the event.

Our Scope

With the aim of ensuring a lasting impact on disability-inclusive programming and coordination in humanitarian action, we will engage with the humanitarian stakeholders at global, regional, and local level.

At regional and local level, we continue and extend the work in our project countries in Somalia & Somaliland, South Sudan, Uganda, Niger, Nigeria and Cameroon with an additional regional approach.

Our Efforts on Global Level

Working with global disability and humanitarian networks

At the global level, we focus on strengthening inter-agency collaboration, providing programming tools and influencing the humanitarian reform process to advance disability inclusion in the humanitarian coordination. This includes active engagement in the IASC-associated Reference Group on Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities in Humanitarian Action (DRG) and the Disability Advisory Group (DAG), as well as close collaboration with major international humanitarian organizations and UN agencies.

Together with the International Disability Alliance (IDA) and the African Disability Forum (ADF), we aim to support the role of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) within the humanitarian system and follow up the commitments made in the Global Disability Summit 2025.

As Phase 4 marks the final stage of the project series, we focus on the uptake of the knowledge and tools developed and tested with the wider humanitarian community. This includes disseminating learning materials and practical tools, alongside documenting lessons learned and good practices through case studies and reports—an approach that has guided us since the beginning.

Tools and resources for humanitarian actors

We are happy to share developed materials through this website as well as at global events such as the Global Disability Summit, the Humanitarian Congress Berlin (HCB) and the Humanitarian Network and Partnership Week (HNPW) in order to showcase innovative approaches, promote discussions and commitments, and to initiate change towards inclusive humanitarian action at all levels.
