About Phase 4 – Leave No One Behind!

Phase 4 (2025-2027) builds upon the successes of the previous project phases and enhances the uptake of the IASC Guidelines on Inclusion for lasting impact through side-scaling and localization.  This phase focuses on advancing disability inclusion in humanitarian action at both global and local levels. Our work continues in six project countries across East and West Africa, where we collaborate closely with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs), humanitarian actors, and other key stakeholders.

Our Objectives

Phase 4 is guided by four interconnected goals:

  • Strengthening Disability-Inclusion in Humanitarian Coordination: Building capacity and providing localized technical support mechanisms to ensure inclusive coordination at the project pilot countries.
  • Facilitating Uptake, Side-Scaling, and Localization of Tools: Promoting the adoption and adaptation of inter-agency programming tools and guidance on disability-inclusive humanitarian action.
  • Empowering OPDs and Addressing Barriers: Removing barriers to meaningful participation and equipping OPDs with the skills and opportunities to engage effectively in humanitarian response and its coordination.
  • Advancing Integration of Disability-Inclusion in the Global Humanitarian System: Driving systemic change through strategic engagements and advocacy to embed inclusion of persons with disabilities into global humanitarian frameworks.

The project is jointly implemented by Handicap International and CBM , and is primarily funded by the German Federal Foreign Office (GFFO).

In Phase 4, the International Disability Alliance (IDA) and the African Disability Forum join Leave No One Behind (LNOB) as collaboration partners. Besides, several Organizations for Persons with Disabilities (OPD’s) will collaborate on project country level in East and West Africa for a joint local implementation.
