The Leave No One Behind! project series, launched in 2016 with support from the German Federal Foreign Office, focuses on mainstreaming disability in global and local humanitarian action in line with the IASC Guidelines on Inclusion. Phase 4 (2025–2027) builds on the achievements of previous phases by strengthening the uptake of the IASC Guidelines on disability inclusion for lasting impact through side-scaling and localization.

On 6 May 2025, HI’s South Sudan project team officially launched the Phase 4 project in collaboration with Organizations of Persons with Disabilities (OPDs) at the Juba Glory Regency Hotel, South Sudan. The event brought together 32 participants, including leaders of OPDs and officials from the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare (MGCSW).

The launch meeting presented the planned objectives and activities to OPD leaders, informed and consulted them, discussed their level of engagement, gathered feedback to refine implementation, and promoted acceptance and ownership of the project.

The Deputy Director from the Ministry of Gender, Child and Social Welfare, Abraham Nhial, expressed readiness to provide necessary support to HI in the implementation of Phase 4 – Leave No One Behind project.

“We would like to thank HI and the donor for their unwavering supports to Persons with disabilities in South Sudan even amidst the current funding crisis,” he said.

On the same note, the Deputy Chairperson, South Sudan Union of Persons with Disabilities Rhoda Atanasio, emphasized:

‘’Humanity & Inclusion has been one of the key partners in disability inclusion through capacity strengthening of partners to mainstream disability in their programming. We appreciate their efforts in promoting the rights of persons with disabilities in South Sudan by bringing to us Phase 4 which says leave no one behind’’.
